About Me:

Dr. Ma was born and raised in Calgary, where he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary in 2017 before earning his medical degree from the University of Alberta in 2022. He then returned to Calgary to complete his Family Medicine residency at the University of Calgary in 2024. After residency, he joined Vivo Cura Health, where he completed additional training in Sport and Exercise Medicine and earned his Sport Medicine Diploma from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine in 2026. Outside of medicine, Dr. Ma has always had a passion for sports, especially basketball and volleyball. Before becoming a physician, he coached basketball and worked in strength and conditioning. That passion naturally led him to Sport Medicine, where he enjoys helping patients recover from injuries, get back to the activities they enjoy, and stay active for the long term.
